1. Services Provided

Howie’s E-Waste offers the following services to residents and businesses in Mackay and the surrounding areas:

  • Collection of unwanted or end-of-life electronic devices

  • Safe and environmentally responsible disposal or recycling of electronic waste

  • Secure data destruction (physical or digital) where applicable

We reserve the right to refuse service if items are deemed hazardous, outside our service scope, or unlawful.

2. Customer Responsibilities

By using our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate contact information and pickup/drop-off details

  • Ensure that items for collection are electronic in nature (e.g., computers, phones, cables, printers)

  • Remove all personal data from devices before handing them over

  • Avoid including batteries or items that may pose a safety risk (unless previously arranged)

3. Data Responsibility and Destruction

We take data privacy seriously. However:

  • Customers are responsible for backing up and wiping personal data from devices before disposal

  • We will make reasonable efforts to securely erase or destroy any remaining data using industry-standard methods

  • We are not liable for any residual data left on devices that were not properly wiped by the customer

4. Ownership and Consent

By providing your devices to Howie’s E-Waste, you confirm that:

  • You are the legal owner of the items or have permission to dispose of them

  • You transfer all ownership rights of the devices to us upon handover

  • You give us full authority to dismantle, recycle, resell, or destroy the devices and their components as we see fit

5. Fees and Payments

  • Pricing (if applicable) will be discussed and agreed upon prior to service

  • In most cases, residential drop-offs and standard pickups are free of charge, unless special handling or distance-based fees apply

  • Any applicable fees will be clearly communicated in advance

6. Liability and Disclaimer

  • We do not guarantee recovery or return of any item or data once devices have been handed over

  • We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury resulting from items improperly packaged or disclosed by the customer

  • All recycling is done in accordance with Queensland environmental standards and national e-waste regulations

7. Service Availability

  • Our services are available in Mackay and the surrounding areas, subject to scheduling and availability

  • We reserve the right to refuse, reschedule, or cancel service at our discretion

8. Intellectual Property

All content, logos, and materials provided on our website or promotional materials are the property of Howie’s E-Waste and may not be copied or used without written consent.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts in that region.
